the humanity bureau explained

Remember when Cage was capable of being both a stolid action/authority figure and a hysterical, outburst-prone nutbar? That keepsake will probably trigger right-wingers' persecution complexes given that Mel doesn't survive his first scene. The Monet (his luck he would actually poke a hole in a real Monet painting). Was this review helpful to you? Poor acting, slow, predictable, boring, unconvincing. Disengaged g-man Noah Kross (Cage, who else) attempts to arrest elderly loner Chester (Mel Tuck) for the harsh crime of not contributing enough to the near-future of 2030. They have all gone down the Lance Henriksen, Ron Perlman, John Cusack route and I am very sad to say we have to add Nick Cage to the list of has beens.

The farm is barren and Kross decides to send them to the relocation center.

Almost too bad to be laughable.

He is not even close to his former days and this is the last one I will see with his name on it. (2017).

Gave it a go thinking "hey maybe it's so bad it's good", everything about it is cheap and shoddy; I don't even think the budget has been disclosed yet. it is mostly well written, Cage and his main charges are quite decent in it, and the supporting cast (control room workers, the gas station attendant...) are good to excellent.

That was actually the best performance and most interesting line of the movie.

This movie is so bad. Unlikely characters like the mountain man (and his clan) are, somehow, entirely believable.

Absolutely useless, pointless, boring movie. Spoilers ahead: It's not only bad—it's barely there at all.

I seriously can't believe I watched it. 1. Toads Wild Ride' but, like Nick Cage's early career, it is all but a memory of better times in entertainment. Joe meets a mother who can contact spirits when suffocating. User Ratings

The child's (adoptive; she killed the real mother during a famine as she was about to sell the kid for meat, in "an accident" (you know, those "accidents" where you murder someone) and probably sold her as meat, or are her), though throughout Nick's character seems fine with her stealing the identity of the woman she murdered, despite having been her lover (This is only revealed towards the end, though little Nicky doesn't react one bit to it) then cut to the last ten minutes, Nick's new lover/the adoptive mother of the boy is shot and killed by the film's main antagonist, who then threatens to kill the boy (while Nick is unarmed and outgunned five to one), but despite the boy shooting said film's.main antagonist's eye out, then mocking him for getting a glass eye and escaping unharmed, the child is let go.

| This is an old-school paranoia thriller, with just enough near future sci fi for fun. Cage's lack of charisma is a major problem since "The Humanity Bureau" has virtually nothing else to offer.

Emphasis on "pale:" Cage looks so drained of color that the combination of his waxy complexion and resting down-in-the-mouth facial expression makes him look like a dried fruit whose color has been artificially removed. The single word that best describes this "movie" is...ludicrous...It has all the look and feel of a 1970s Pilot episode for a tv series that never made it into production...The dialogue is particularly bad and the attempt to make it a futuristic endeavor is completely demolished by the extensive use of normal automobiles...So many holes it is not even worth naming all of them...and if all that isn't bad enough, a terrible ending....worthless really, Two things have caused me to write this review. Unfortunately, these stock characters aren't worth caring about. For proof: see any scene in "The Humanity Bureau," an indifferently assembled B-movie set in a post-apocalyptic America where Nicolas Cage drives around looking like a very pale imitation of post-war Jimmy Stewart (think "Rear Window" and "The Naked Spur").

The characters were poorly developed and no thought or creativity went into the single snowy mountain scenery.

All we know about Rachel is that she's suspicious of Kross, and protective of her misbehaving son (he likes to play with matches—in all of one scene).

I can't say this is the worst film ever made because I haven't seen every film, I can't imagine there are many as bad as this, I had to rate and review because there seems to be a concerted attempt by interested parties to vote this film up, There are people giving it 10/10. Cage's lack of charisma is a major problem since "The Humanity Bureau" has virtually nothing else to offer. Weren't "productive" enough Even though the first person supposed to be sent to said supershoah deathcamp was managing to afford a motel room and the second pair (the mother and son) managed to subsist on a farm and managed to look fairly healthy) as well as the boy attending school and playing the starring role in a (starched stiff) school recital that he had been "practicing for months for" so it's hardly a deathcamp for slackers.

Bad dialog, terrible plot, horrible acting. Three strangers' lives are inevitably entangled in a conflict none of them are prepared for. Sadly, the backstory that's used to justify all of Cage's moody pouting is as predictable as the rest of the film is rote.

He is sent to evaluate the farm of Rachel Weller and her son Lucas. After watching The Humanity Bureau, it is with a big sigh of relief that I read Nicolas Cage is finally quitting acting... only for that relief to be replaced by a sharp intake of breath when I read that he is planning on getting back in production through his company Saturn Films. The script left much to be desired. Heck, "The Wicker Man" feels like a bygone golden age of magnetic Cage hamminess compared to lumpen, cold dreck like "The Humanity Bureau."

Looking for some great streaming picks? Unlike the New America in this movie. That was the last new Nicolas Cage movie I will ever dare to watch again.

I've seen better acting at elementary school play. This was so terrible I was compelled to warn people.

This movie is awful.

It seems so long ago, but he did it in delightfully off-kilter horror-comedy "Mom and Dad" earlier this year. Bad effects, terrible acting, an attempted Trump reference that could be interpreted as either positive or negative, the hottie who played Molly Hartley and ridiculous villains make for a movie which should have been 'Space Mountain' but ended up as 'It's a Small World After All'. Then again, he frequently fails to make eye contact with Lind, so these scenes aren't just awkward—they're charmlessly dull.

Wish to say more but.... nothing to say actually.

He's haunted by a past that everybody, including vengeful former-partner/best friend Adam Westinghouse (Hugh Dillon), wants to know about. Much Much Better Than The 4.1 Rating This Now Has. ", I liked this movie allot. Economic collapse and global warming fears are all the rage now, similar to nuclear holocost in the 80's for those that remember the era. But then the other guy said something and the first guy shrugged and the moment was gone. Simon Abrams is a native New Yorker and freelance film critic whose work has been featured Esquire, the Village Voice and elsewhere. But when is Cage going to stop giving credence to that sadly on-point Funny or Die sketch about his pushover of a talent agent?

It seems many of the movie greats have become straight to DVD fodder now. Unfortunately, the spirit in the daughter's body is now that of Joe's dead wife. I wished I was watching another Nicolas Cage movie the whole time I was looking at "The Humanity Bureau." Film festival attendees who have seen "Mandy," a new psychedelic whatsit from artsploitation genius Panos Cosmatos ("Beyond the Black Rainbow"), say that it's great. Film Review: ‘The Humanity Bureau’ Nicolas Cage's third release in less than three months is a fairly low-key but effective dystopian-future tale. | If Soylent Green and Mein Kampf had a baby with the Washington Liberal Left as the surrogate, Terrible acting - Terrible dialogue (seriously terrible) - Mediocre effects - Mediocre story - Mediocre characters (Tho stereotypical bad guy is so nonsensical he's almost hilarious).

Well, No I certainly don't think so; Nick and John Cusack both seem to be dying their hair with boot polish these days but at least Nick hasn't had too many face lifts like John Cusack (seriously have you seen him in CELL & SINGULARITY - He looks like a woman). Anyway as the child is pelting the group with rocks (and they calmly sit there and take the rock-pelting, telling him "I told you to run") just for the four of the five to be shot dead by a well encamped sniper while the last guy simply runs away at walking pace. The filmmakers don't seem interested in pandering to either end of the political spectrum beyond two scenes which, when viewed together, can arguably … A Southern mobster attempts to rescue his kidnapped brother. Gone, as far as I'm concerned, forever.

He is my favourite actor of all time. Granted, Cage doesn't owe his fans a thing and the man's creative eccentricities are a key part of his charm (remember when he took mushrooms with his pet cat?). It left me with way too many questions.

I might be unfair, I only watched the first 20 minutes or so, and only because I wanted to give Nicolas Cage a chance (I really enjoyed many of his early movies). "What Happened to Wednesday". There are also some weird comedic scenes between Westinghouse and Agent Porter (Vicellous Shannon, the film's only African-American performer), all of which revolve around Dillon growling increasingly testy while Shannon stumbles around, trying to give his colleague a wider berth.
